Pray for 39 Women Walking 'Back to Life.' -- 'Love is the Key,' Says Dr. Alveda King

Contact: Eugene Vigil, 757-593-9982

HOUSTON, March 20, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- On March 17, 2012, thirty nine beautiful, brave, and sometimes broken women converged in Houston, Texas. They came from all walks of life to walk together "Back to Life" for twenty one days. Inspired by the convener of the walk, Laura Allred, founder of Standard Bearers International and Captured Ministries, they are carrying a mandate to encourage their generation to a higher standard.

Laura is strengthened by her husband Gabriel Allred, who is the worship leader at Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas, Texas. Together, the two are powerful ministers of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are grateful to God for His stirring in the hearts of the women who are banded together to walk "Back to Life."

Each young woman, representing one year of the thirty-nine years of legalized abortion in America -- are now walking the nearly 250 miles of open road for a 21-day trek from the nation's largest Planned Parenthood center, located in Houston, Texas, to the courthouse in Dallas where Roe v Wade was born.

Dr. Alveda King, Director of African American Outreach for Priests for Life, and niece of Dr. Martin Luther, King, Jr. was "blessed to be there to pray with the women and see them off on their journey." King was joined by other "veteran prolife warriors" including local pastors and leaders, and national figures Attorney Allan and Susan Parker of The Justice Foundation, Lou and Therese Engle of THE CALL, and Rev. Arnold Culbreath of Protecting Black Life.

Reading from the book of 1Corinthians 13:8, Alveda told the women, some of whom had just shared their unique and compelling pro-life testimonies while standing in front of America's largest Planned Parenthood abortion facility in Houston: "As you walk back to life, let love be the key to march you to victory. Love never fails."

The walk will culminate on April 6, 2012 on the courthouse steps in Dallas, TX. The women will be met by prayer warriors and pro-life supporters from all over the country. That same day, Lou Engle will lead THE ESTHER CALL, a prayer movement calling women to repent for abortion and pray for healing.
